120 days, and just had to make one last painting

Image
Sold one, yes ONE of my perspective paintings, and I'm guessing it will be the last painting I sell, which means they will end up on a wall somewhere when I find a new home....as will all of the new art I paint in the future.  That's $40 in mah pocket, and one less painting I have to take with me. I like my own stuff, so if it doesn't sell, that's okay, I like it, and inspired by those British manor houses that would have paintings floor to ceiling. So I've got paint to get rid of, and a lack of ability to do something I will take with me, cause then I would have to store it, and I'm already pushing that boundary as it is. Here's one last painting seattle, it's only temporary, since it's attached to the house an will be torn down after I leave, it's a goner...

Contemplating the future

One of the things I do these days is contemplate what I'll miss, well, I don't think I'll miss being in the middle of things that I see coming down the road for seattle, it will be more fun to watch it from a distance. I see the future of self driving cars, especially seattle will vote for them, but what happens when you have 1000+ emotionless cars obeying Every traffic law perfectly, amongst 1000s more doing what they do now, trying to get to the red light faster than everyone else? Also, what happens when human drivers bully the autonomous vehicles? And what happens to the 1000s of cabbies who lets face it, not the most employable people anyway, otherwise they wouldn't be driving cabs, what does seattle do with all of the unemployed who are basically unemployable in a city like seattle.  Having my job displaced by tech, nothing was done to further me into something else, a better opportunity etc. Or smart homes, one day there will be an upgrade, just some code w

122 days

Sadly I have to go pick up my art on tuesday, the stuff that didn't sell, strange how my non-Pollock's sold all three, and I've only sold one of my perspective pieces, but the good news is that it's the most complex of them, since it's not just a Perspective Piece, it's also got the raised subliminal image. The whole painting is supposed to say "I ❤ to Inflict ART", or "Art I ❤ to Inflict". Sad to see it go, but nice to sell at least one before I go.  Strange I've only sold one, but where ever I go, I'm going to have walls, and I'm going to make enough paintings to cover those walls... Along with a few bikes.  ðŸ˜‰ Super jazzed about being off next week, did a bunch of hours at work to pad that retirement fund last week...cause I don't want to have to get another job, ever. So the plan is, October be on the road heading south, so I can head east to a non income tax state, and find a cheap place to live, place that I can be

Staying positive since letting stuff bug me don't make me happy

On an okay yardsale day I made an okay amount of pocket change, got something for stuff I won't be taking with me, so that's good. But the big stuff didn't sell, which kind of bums me out, but the day got betta, took two old raincoats and sewed them together to make a rain cover for the extra crap module....turned out pretty good, but mostly I think it will work, also anything I have under it curious eyes won't be tempted.....

One more Yardsale to get me down the road

It's finally dry weather, so I can get my Moving Sale on, urg, sounds so needy and desperate.... But I have to liquidate stuff, cause it's cheaper to buy new stuff than to store stuff an transport it, even if I have to buy it, I won't have to pay to ship it to my new 'forever home'. And I got my second free map, this one is for Arizona.... Yea, got my biodegradable Moving Sale signs up on the telly poles, so I won't have to go get them after the sale, got some stuff out there in the yard, but not all of it at once, makes it easier to get set up in the morning, and be ready at 9am. Sadly my No Haggling sign is still down at the Artwalk place, but I has cardboard, and a black marker, make new sign.

Got my first free road map

Why buy when you can request for free, so thank you Texas for sending me a very useful road map. Next up is NM, AZ, and just requested CA & OR, so analog maps, I'm gonna stand out. Supervisor asked me yesterday to write and sign the resignation letter, so last night I did the math, added up all the vacation I'll have at the end of September, and I'll have over 100hrs of vacay, which will be over a month on vacation, which means I will earn two more days worth of vacation while on vacation, which will take me officially into November, as still actually employed, but as I know from when I had a job transition all I need to keep my medical is to work one day in a month and that keeps the medical coverage for the whole month. So I'll be covered up until December, but I'll be far far away from here... In the immortal words of Ed Asner, "So long suckers" So that's it so far, going to go for the yardsale this weekend, get rid of some stuff, down

Tonight's artwalk was pretty good

For my last artwalk in Seattle, I guess you could call it a success, sold some stuff, entertained a few more, had people walking into each other. Note to self, next place I do an artwalk I should probably tape a path on the floor. The clinic I exhibited at, nice people, I think they would get together to polish off a bottle or two anyway, even without an artwalk to structure it around. Sold the last two "flying paint" paintings, tried it without the frames this time, I'll use the frames later on another project. Also sold one of my BA NA NA FK HM UP t-shirts, awesome, but still have a box left, no worries, they will be going with me on my bike trip south, then east. So at the end of the night, a good night, good to go out on a high note. P

Artwalkies and leaving town...

Tomorrow is the artwalk, and I do believe this will be my last artwalk in Seattle, barring me becoming an "Artist in Residence" somewhere in town, art is going into storage, then it will be fallowing me when I find a new place to live, make art, build bikes etc. Nope, don't know when or where I will find the new place, but I'll know it when I get there, maybe. Seattle isn't Seattle anymore, and not just climate wise, without the people, to make a city what it was or is, it isn't the city. So micro-millionaires, enjoy the gilded cages you are creating for yourself. I'll be looking forward to a really long bike ride, camping, being away from the electronic world not just the working world(I'll be quasi-retired).  Looking for a more analog place to live, not just a place with fewer people, a more affordable place, and a dog, cause dogs are full of louves. So fallow along, I'll be posting when I can, free wifi is out there, just not everywhere
