Things I wonder about the future...

Image
Things change, like in Seattle the "Orca Card" has taken over for bus riders and as a result people don't have pocket change to leave behind as they pull the wallet out of their pocket. The change would fall out, under the bus, and I would come along and pick it up, then I would pay it towards my home loan, every day I would have a pile of coins to take to the bank to pay to the 'principal' balance of the loan, saved me maybe $20 a month in interest charges. But alas, I paid off the loan, I'm fluid(about to be completely) and I have noticed that as the cashless society has taken the city over, there isn't as much coinage just laying there in the street for me to swoop in and snag... So when I'm biking down the road to more rural towns, roads, places not covered by Verizon or anyone, will I start to find coins just laying there in the street? I wonder...just things to look forward too. In other news, decided to overhaul the drive train on the tour

Still finding some gold along the road

Sold the Cookie Crook, and even though I had to drag it all the way home walking, I snagged a Hard Case Bike Box This is a pic of one like it, mine doesn't look like it's ever been used. And, I might be able to get rid of the pile of Commercial figures I have for $10, true if someone sits there and holds onto them and sells one or two at a time, they will probably double or quad their money, but I don't have the time. Thank you 4imprint, the dry bags are supposed to show up on Monday. Gratuitous plug for free stuff, giftcards for food, mobile minutes, and beef jerky. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2TNGRHLIDJ0CF/ref=cm_go_nav_hz   my trip list

62 days - Adventure Monkeys vs those that hide in a cave...

Had a visit from an old buddy last week, and something about the way he an his girlfriend asked me something. They asked about any 'butterfly's' or 'nervousness', rather than the usual stupid that I get from people freaking out that I won't have a job(I'll be retired won't need one), or for a while I won't have a home to go to(need to find it when I get there), the 'gAtcha' questions are numerous. True, many adventure monkeys went out and were eaten by the T-rex, or fell off that cliff, we won't miss them, but without adventure monkeys we wouldn't know what's on the other side of that hill, or what's down that hill, what's over there. And many a monkey hiding in the cave died when the cliff side came down on top of them, or just plain starved because they refused to go a little further outside of their comfort zone to the food just over there. So am I scared that I'm leaving it all behind, cashing out and moving on

70 days and some things are coming together

Sold three things, then faced with a chance to buy something I had bid on a couple of years ago I just had to splurge, good thing it's really small, and didn't cost as much as the last one I bid on. Next I need to complain to the Ins. Commissioner about Safeco, evidently when you give them too many things to do they screw it up, I hope to make them pay for their mistake, because when a human calls to make a change the person answering the phone should be able to make it happen. But on to better news, bike, trailer, bags, all getting filled with the stuff I will need, pairing stuff down to keep the weight down, as weight is going to be the biggest pain.  Good news is after I finish off the pile of food I'm taking with me, I can leave the extra trailer in the dust, though I think that will be after AZ, NM, and into TX, because I assume I'll need it to carry water. And in ten days I turn 49,  look at the birthday present I got myself. It will go into the magic box o
