Shiny Metal and Rusty Gold....

Image
Glad I did the shiny on the kitchen side, as there did not seem to be enough for both sides when I did the gym side of the great room.  Here's the kitchen side before the 2" stuff.  kitchen side done.  Hmm, that turned out more blurry than I had intended. Well at least this pic is sharp, that light strip might get covered up when I put the pieces back up there, had to cut them install, then I'll take them down so I can clear coat them.  Also put some tar paper on that wall too.

Two good things...It was the windy time, and the windy-er time....

Update on the tree: Nice guy came by an took some of it, but his saw died so he didn't take any more. So little wind storm last night, took out some trees, an thankfully the tree fell AWAY from the house, it was the huge oak out front. I won't have to figure out how to cut that one branch that the squirrels were using to get onto the roof. And I think all that Oak Pollen was bothering even me. Two things, now the pics of the carnage....  About 11pm last night.  An yes I'll have to cut that so it doesn't look like that....  This is what I woke up to deal with.  only blocked half the street.  My front door is back there..  And even this other tree on the side had a branch die.  Sadly this shed renewal will have to be sooner than later...at least I was planning on dealing with this.  Neighbor's yard, snapped em like twigs.  Bit wet an windy to get the leaves to stick to the new shed.  After a hard morning&#

Yay the ceiling, after doing the side walls...

One side is shiny, the other is rustic an rusty. And yes, it's a pain to get boards up onto the ceiling, especially when that ceiling is at an angle.  While waiting for some flashing to show up, I did the door surround. I'm liking it all plain like that.  Here's above the front door and that's the reclaimed rusty metal roofing, put a coat of poly on it to seal it up.  An here's the other side nice an shiny, 10" flashing with 2" strips over the seams. Here's the start of the ceiling above where the old hallway used to be, hope to be done with that by the weekend so I can get started on the other side.

Even with the police stand off, I was working...

Yes there was a stand off on friday with a guy who evidently had some drug offenses, he was driving one of them Dodge four wheel tow package type trucks, can't imagine what he was trying to over compensate for.... But alas I was on the complete other side of my house, safest place to be with all that wood between me an the guy who going back to the big house.  Here's the wall I finished last week, porch is on the other side of it.  Here's the start of the weekend.  And here we are finished with the front wall, outlets installed, ready for power... Still need to do the trim around this window an the one in the bedroom, but I'll do that when it's not as rainy as it was this weekend.
