Finished the back corner....

Image
Finished the back corner of fence, so I'm pretty secure from critters and any morons who think they can just waltz on through.  Might have even snagged some fur from one such critter. This weekend I stacked up the old wood fence along the edge for it to finish rotting, goal was to have it look a little like an old stacked stone wall from long ago, and the rate things seem to rot back there, it will be there a while. Here's the part of fence I put in front of the tree, so I don't have to look out at the barbed wire wrapped around the tree. Here's the row along the old shed, back to the corner. This is the back corner, with the wood stacked up along the bottom, keep them critters away. Still needs some red flags. This is the outside view, plants should I hope fill in to make it look a little better. Right there is some FUR, so barbed wire doing it's job.

Finished the bottom of part 1 of the back fence

The back fence is going to be in two parts, as I need to get that back corner post in before I can finish the back, and also work on the side. Finished cutting through the fallen stump so I can get the fence through there, it was a chore, cut a wedge with the rip saw, block by block use a free screwdriver as a chisel, and get down to where I finished off with the bow saw, just had to get down to the rotten part, which that tree has been on the ground for quite some time, and evidently the ants didn't like oak. Might have a baby pecan tree back in that corner, so I might try to do something with that at a later date. As you can see here's the bush being trained along the wire, goal is to have the bush become the fence, so when the bush is along there, if someone comes up, they won't want to try walking through a tree. See the little red flags, cut up a shirt that didn't fit, and added it to the wire. Not sure if you can see, but between the posts I ran wire from the top

Bit of fencing, a bit of door....

Image
The fencing went well, and then the ten minutes I thought the door would take took a couple of hours instead. It's not the  Chappa 'ai I used to have in my old bathroom, but it's good enough for free, and the gold paint seemed to turn out good. Here's the door before the two hours it took to get the hinges back into the door, as the holes needed some help, as in wood and gorilla glue to make the screws hold in the holes. Lock parts I need to put back together. and the hinges. Here's the first two rows of barbed wire, need to install the mesh stuff at the bottom, to keep the critters from bur-roughing under, cats from jumping through.  Here we go, keep it tight, and sharp. And so it's not just barbed wire, I'm trying to train the bush onto the barbed wire to keep it from being just some barbed wire. Here's the door with the hinges, still need to put the lock back together. Not sure which pic shows the copper best. Maybe it's this...

I have a green thumb, for a little while anyway...

My nice neighbor Jose' gave me an agave to plant, and after several months of wondering where would be the best place, I had to dig out the oak roots that kept coming back anyway, so after that I planted the little guy next to the old stump. Here's the little guy I planted a while back.... And just downhill from the bigger one is this little guy... Which will hopefully get as big as momma here...

Tree down....

Image
This was the last tree that could have come down on my house, not that it would have done much, but it was a concern, seemed solid so it didn't seem like an emergency, but it was apparently rotten at the root, you know, like Democrats.

The new pull up bar....

Image
Goodbye whimpy, an hello this is gonna hurt.... I got the new pull up bar for my powerrack,  just four bolts and it's perfect....well almost. This is what it was before, and the grips on those tiny things shifted when I was doing pull ups. And this is the new one, multiple grips, and larger diameter bars to grip. Now to try an sell the old one....

RINGU I found the precious......

Image
UPDATE: sadly, it's a fake, a really good fake since it has the right feel, but maybe that's why the lady who had it threw it out the window and it landed on the HWY for me to find.  It was a good feeling while it lasted.  Ah people might look at me funny when I'm out running around here, but the ring with a 18 stamped on the inside of it with all the sparkly things that might be diamonds, tells me running is a good thing. I notice the hearts on the ringu that might indicate that this is a 'Wuhan-Covid" related break up.... And now the Precious...Grandma Peaches said I was Precious, so I must be....

Interior pics since somebody says I don't post enough of the inside.....;)

Well someone said I hadn't posted enough pics of the inside, I thought I had, but that might have been before I fixed Cookie Monster's left eye...

It's down, woot woot!

The last of the danger to the house limbs from the tree are down. I cut it and then I had to say goodbye to the old tree with the rocks on it, then grind down the stump and put grass over it, hope that patch holds, if not I'll drill some holes into the stump to put some dirt in. That sucker couldn't have fallen any better. An here's a bug that just came out of it's shell.
